Morning Starhas for decades been the most popular Japanese incense in the West and now offers 15 different fine and pure scents. The many scents allow you to create your own scent combinations by burning two or more different scents at the same time. In 2004, the Danish Environmental Protection Agency examined various incenses on the Danish market, and Morning Star, which was then the only widespread Japanese incense in Denmark, got the best results in all measurements.

The Japanese incense is "without a stick in the middle," which makes it easy to shorten the burning time by breaking the incense to the desired length before lighting it. To light the incense, hold one end over a lighter flame and blow out the flame after a second or two, leaving only the glow. Then you can place the incense stick in the small holder that comes with most boxes. You place the holder on a small plate which collects the ash.

The best way to experience the incense is to enjoy the fine billowing smoke from a distance. Slowly you will notice that the fine fragrance spreads in the room and can be enjoyed long after the stick has burned out. Japanese incense is much more than just fragrance and sensual indulgence. Like Japanese gardening and tea ceremonies, it provides access to the rich Japanese culture. It is a path to greater awareness in everyday life and a unique tradition for meditative consciousness development. Watching the fine billowing smoke is soothing, like listening to the waves of the ocean, and it's hard to think negative thoughts when lighting a Japanese incense stick. The act itself is a small ceremony that brings joy to the heart.
