After working four years in a spiritual bookstore and being interested in spiritual literature for more than 12 years, I have read a lot of exciting spiritual books - and some that were not so exciting!
Recommending books to others is always a bit tricky, because what topic should it be, what do you want to get out of the book and which authors and their writing style suit you?
I have 5 books on my list of absolute favorite spiritual books that have given me tremendous insight, understanding and a lot of aha experiences. I don't know if these are the right books for you. But good, educational and my favorite books, at least they are.
TOP 5 FAVORITE SPIRITUAL BOOKS:
Heal Your Life - Louise Hay (buy it here)
The Universe Has Your Back - Gabrielle Bernstein
The Secret - Rhonda Byrne
The 5 Love Languages - Gary Chapman
The Gratitude Journal - Myself, Zoey Adrianna (buy it here)
Heal Your Life - Louise Hay
The book is about the self-help guru Louise Hay, who has gradually become an icon within the spiritual world, and her upbringing. She shares her knowledge about life, emotions and the body, mental and physical ailments, and how we can heal ourselves with the help of affirmations. This book is an absolute must-read, and the book I pull out every time I have pain somewhere in my body.
The Universe Has Your Back - Gabrielle Bernstein
Gabrielle is one of today's absolute hottest authors and spiritual guides, and for good reason. She has written several books and this one is one of my favorites. It's about the fact that no matter what happens in life, the universe has our back. It gives you a kick in the rear and reminds you that things always happen for a reason and that the best we can do is to believe that things happen for us, instead of against us.
The Secret - Rhonda Byrne
The book, which was written several years ago, is about the law of attraction. If you don't know what it is, it's a universal law that says that what we send out (of thoughts, words, energy, etc.) we get back. So the universe matches the energy you send out. This book is one of my favorite books. It is simple, easy to read and it touches on one of the most important things that all people should know - namely the law of attraction.
The 5 Love Languages - Gary Chapman
This book was truly an eye opener for me. Here we humans walk around believing that we all give and receive love in the same way. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Gary Chapman talks about the five different love languages that exist and that some people give love in one way, while others do it in another way.
When I read this book, some pieces really fell into place - and I can highly recommend it, both in relation to friendships, family, relationships and all relationships in general.
Gratitude Journal - Zoey Adrianna
This book is also one of my favorites. Not because I made it myself, but because it gives me so much joy every single day. The book is a kind of diary where every day you can write down 3 things that you have been grateful for during the day. It helps us remember all the things we actually have in our lives that we often forget to appreciate. So every night before I go to bed, I scribble down 3 things that have made me happy and grateful.
