How to clean your crystals

01

Cleaning with running water

Water is traditionally thought to neutralize negative energy in crystals, creating grounding. Although naturally running water is ideal, using tap water is also effective.

  • Procedure : Carefully submerge your stone under running water. Make sure it is completely covered. Make sure your crystal can withstand cleansing with water, as it is not beneficial for all crystals.
  • Drying : Gently pat the stone dry after cleaning.
  • Duration : Approximately 1 minute per stone.
  • Ideal for : Hard stones such as quartz .
  • Not suitable for : Fragile or soft stones, including selenite, kyanite and halite.
02

Cleaning with salt water

Salt has been highly valued throughout the ages for its ability to absorb energy and ward off negativity.

  • Preparation of salt water : If you have access to sea water, use it. Alternatively, mix a tablespoon of sea, rock, celtic or himalayan in a bowl of water.
  • Immersion : Full immersion of your stone in the salt water. Let it soak for a few hours up to two days.
  • Rinsing and drying : Rinse and pat gently - dry afterwards.
Duration: Can be up to 48 hours.
  • Ideal for : Hard stones such as quartz and amethyst .
  • Not suitable for : Soft, porous stones or those with traces of metals, such as malachite , selenite , halite, calcite, lepidolite and angelite.

  • After cleaning : Rinse off any dirt and pat dry.
  • Duration : 10 to 12 hours.
  • Ideal for : Most pocket stones.
  • Not suitable for : Colored stones like amethyst in sunlight; soft stones such as celestite, halite and selenite in violent weather.

Cleansing crystals with Selenite

Selenite is known for its unique pure crystal energy, and is among the most valued crystals globally. The unique thing about selenite is that it absorbs neither negative nor positive energies. Its ability to cleanse other crystals without being affected itself makes it indispensable in crystal care.

  • How to : To cleanse a crystal, place it in direct physical contact with a selenite stone.
  • Time frame : It is optimal to let the crystals rest together overnight.
  • Purification process : The selenite will absorb all impurities from the crystal, but itself remains unaffected and pure.

I recommend a Selenite plate , which is often my first choice when cleaning my crystals.

These methods offer a variety of options for crystal lovers to cleanse and recharge their stones, ensuring their continued strength and properties.
